Continuity Materials were explored fully for their characteristics in a variety of manners. They could be to used in artful aspects by pursuing continuity through repetitive arrangement, such as, textile blocks, traditional masonry brick banding, rock "stick-out", or as in the case of wood, in horizontal arrangements of reverse board and batten. Mr. Wright believed continuity gave rise to economy of labor and materials, as well as, economy in space arrangement when further refinement of the his grid system planning. Economy of maintenance was also a goal by selection of natural materials that could withstand wear and weatherization. |
