Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium The Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium in nearby Tempe, on the campus of Arizona State University, is a spectacular example of Wright's keen eye for the natural features of the Sonoran landscape. Overall, the high roofed circular-shaped building provides a canopy-like domed cover for a somewhat smaller low cylindrical level faced nearly all the way around with ivory-colored shades of gypsum and thin shelled concrete on the colonnade. But, it's the auditoium's magnificent desert-rose finish of brick and marblecrete on the exterior that first attracts and captures our attention. |
