New Bright Colors
SAMARA Today

By the 1970s, the original fabrics needed replacement. To offset the influence of the cold blues of the sky, greens of the vegetaion, white of the winter snows, and the sharp square corners imposed on the building, with the assistance of the Taliesin Associates, the Christian's added a warm golden cut pile carpet.

Uphostery fabric of a stylized natural material woven into the fabric, but in bright reds, oranges and yellow-greens all in sharp contrast to the natural greens coming in from the outside.

Even the dining area was carefully considered. This very quiet and intimate space was provided with bright colored dinnerware to provide a contrast to the muted tones of the space.

Free standing pole lamps with variable intensity lights designed by Mr. Wright give the owner options for creating warmth in areas not covered by the built-in lighting and also play an important part in providing shadows - the grey tones which are so important to SAMARA.
