Wright's Third Dimension - Color
Rich Color Palette

Early black and white photos of Wright's work, clearly revealed his skill at locating and illuminating his buildings. One can see how the delicate interplay of light and shadow enhances the magic of his designs.

But it wasn't until color photography arrived that we could finally see a third dimension to all of this. Color! The very thing that makes Wright's work come alive!

To enhance color, then, is a practical reason for the careful siting and lighting of a building. Of course, the architect, the client and those lucky enough to visit a Wright site, were already feasting on a rich color palette.
