Dining Room

"The sense of space within the reality of any building is a new concept wherever architecture is concerned." Frank Lloyd Wright

The dining area is a model of how to manipulate space to produce the opposite effect found in the SAMARA living room.

An intimate feeling is achieved by raising the floor via the same amount of steps that lower the living room on the opposite side. The ceiling of the dining room is lowered to the clerestory level, and a solid brick wall provides a private back drop for the dining party.

A final touch is provided by Mr. Wright's use of his trade-mark high-back chairs. Six dining room chairs nearly create their own space-within-a-space. When seated at the dining table, people feel as though they are in a cozy separate room, even though they are actually located in a corner of the much larger living room area.
