Living Room

"The sense of space within the reality of any building is a new concept wherever architecture is concerned." Frank Lloyd Wright

Upon entering SAMARA, you are standing in a narrow, low foyer with Wright directing your eye to the openness of the main living area off to your right. With added curiosity, he forces a person entering the house into yet another 90 degree turn toward a vast living area.

The living room is a masterstroke of manipulation of space. The floor sinks via several steps located along nearly the full length of the room. A rise in the ceiling accentuates the clerestory window bands which contain the SAMARA design logo around two sides of the room.

The feeling of vast space is further enhanced by a wall of glass along the same two sides of the room. Because of the shelter effect provided by the cantilevered lower roof, it makes the terrace area seem like it is an integral part of the indoor living area.
