Abstracted Designs
Abstractions Abstractions To the left, a pillow top shows an abstraction of the SAMARA weed holder. Frank Lloyd Wright, at the request of Dr. and Mrs. Christian, agreed to design the weed holder specific to their house. Like all of the wood inside and outside of the house, the SAMARA weed holder is made of Philippine mahogany.

On the right, an abstraction of plant-life mimics the extensive vegetation found outside and inside of the house. SAMARA's landscape, as specified by Mr. Wright, includes more than 80 species of plants.
