More Stories about SAMARA
Presentation in the Living Room Important to Wright's designs is the integration of color in his fabrics, draperies, building materials and floor coverings. Mary McDowell shares some stories about Frank Lloyd Wright's life as a young boy on his uncle's farm in Wisconsin. This famous architect selected the color of the day lily and incorporated it into the red square to use as his personal logo.
Presentation in the Dining Room The SAMARA dining room raises all sorts of questions in the minds of young students. Dr. Rogers gestures with his hands to emphasize the way Mr. Wright created a new sense of space by lowering the ceiling and raising the floor to make the eyes move horizontal toward the outside into the garden and terrace. The students are eager to try out the dining chairs and respond to and ask new questions about Wright's architectural style.
