|
Dr. Christian describes how Frank Lloyd Wright abstracted designs from Nature including the hollyhock flower and sumac plant. He lets the kids know that often Mr. Wright named his designs after something he saw on a client's building lot. |
|
Squeezing a mature, dried pine cone, Dr. Christian shows how small winged seeds, called samara, can be observed falling through the air. Frank Lloyd Wright noticed evergreen trees growing on the building lot owned by John and Kay Christian. Mr. Wright knew all about the tiny winged seeds found in pine cones and named their house SAMARA. |
