SAMARA Furniture and Its Use
In A Frank Lloyd Wright Designed Home

Dining Table and Chairs
Wally Rogers

The Furnishings

Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie Style dining rooms featured tall, straight-back chairs and large heavy tables. Later, Wright's dining room chairs had lower, yet still dintinctively high backs. In his Usonian homes, the dining tables and chairs were often constructed from plywood and reflected a building's own geometric module and scale.

Mr. Wright said that every chair must eventually be designed for the building it is to be used in. With the care of a master artist, Mr. Wright designed the SAMARA dining room furniture to match the taste and personality of Kay Christian who was a masterful hostess of formal and informal dinner parties as well as a clever entertainer of people.
