The furniture in SAMARA was built right in the living room by the carpenter as Mr. Wright designed it. The construction mimics the lines and materials of the building itself.

Wright's designs include many built-in pieces including long bench-like seats, a hi-fidelity speaker system, an entertainment center with television and associated electronic systems, several desks in the work space and bed rooms, shelving, a buffet and sideboards.

Thus much of the furniture in SAMARA is an extension of the architecture coordinating materials and colors. Pushed back against the walls they become background items clearing other parts of the space for selected tables, lights, chairs, rugs, planters and hassocks.

Mr. Wright built in lights and the associated dimming mechanisms to control the light intensity. This enables setting the "mood" of the rooms to individual desires and bathes the rooms in an indirect, soft, diffused glow of light. To indicate the detail, pink light bulbs were specified for the light sources.
