Gallery VI - Oriental Art"Photographs that say a lot about Frank Lloyd Wright's genius of design." Ed Townsend, 1999
The oriental influence shows up everywhere at SAMARA - from the terrace and carport to the fireplace and entertainment center.
Lanterns Budda Lights Guarded Entry
Oriental art greatly influenced the Usonian architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Chinese lanterns draw attention to the terrace as an extension of the living room. A lighted Budda poised among colorful candles creates an oriental atmosphere for the entertainment center. Pole lights illuminate space near the fireplace creating contrasting light and dark areas on the specially selected pinkish red brick of SAMARA. The carport provides a guarded entry characteristic of the orient with its gargoyle and terra-cotta soldiers.
