SAMARAQuest
1   Does your house always look so neat?
2   Has any car ever made it up your driveway?

The house does not always look so neat. There are periods of time when I do not have visitors and I sort of put off the cleaning chores while I do other higher priority things that are of importance.

However, I do have many visitors to SAMARA (over 2,000 last year) and I always try to have the house look at its best.

So, just before you came on your last visit, I am sure that I cleaned and straightened things up in the house so that you perhaps would think that it is always neat and clean.

As you know, I have a brick driveway and the hill up to the home is quite steep. Even so most cars have little trouble making it to the top.

However, as you can imagine, during the winter months when there is ice and snow on the ground, it is much more difficult to make it to the top.

Mr. Wright solved that problem by creating a hidden entrance to the house off of Northwestern Avenue (on the West side) where cars can come in and go down hill to avoid the uphill climb from Woodland Avenue.

Woodland Avenue is the main entrance to SAMARA and you should use that entrance when there is no snow or ice.

I've enjoyed responding to your questions. To learn more about SAMARA, I encourage you to visit the other Benton Fifth Grade Team pages. You may also be interested in taking a look at the Benton SAMARAQuest Challenge.

The Benton SAMARAQuest Challenge is designed to expand your learnings beyond what you already know about Frank Lloyd Wright and SAMARA. The Challenge suggests activities for exploring things you're interested in learning more about in your studies of the world's greatest architect.
