1   Why are the bedrooms so small?
2   Do you ever turn on the fireplace?
    3   Does it burn?

Mr. Wright designed his Usonian homes to be affordable to middle income families in the United States, but still retain their unique, innovative and artistic character.

His living rooms were relatively large; thus, the bedrooms, hallway, and bathrooms were smaller to keep the overall cost within reason.

Mr. Wright always beleived that everyone should spend most of their time in the living room where a massive fireplace was located in the center, or heart, of the house.

Over the years, we used the fireplace a great deal. This was especially true during holiday seasons and when we had guests.

The fireplace was designed sufficiently large to accept large logs resulting in large, hot fires which radiated the heat into the room.

This always was very pleasant and felt good on cold winter evenings. The fireplace burns exceptionally well.

Perhaps all of you can visit with me again sometime and we can have a big, hot fire in the SAMARA fireplace- a fireplace created by the world's most famous architect.
